What does a final grade calculator tell you?
This calculator solves backward from a target course grade. Instead of asking what your course grade will be after a known exam score, it calculates the exam score required to reach the target you choose.
Final grade formula
If the final exam is worth w of the course, the non-final work is worth 1 − w. The required final score equals (target − current × (1 − w)) ÷ w. The calculator converts the weight percentage to a decimal before solving.
How to interpret results above 100% or below 0%
A required score above 100% means the target cannot be reached under the entered values without extra credit or another grading adjustment. A negative required score means the target is already mathematically secured even with a zero on the final under this simple model.
Important assumption
Your current grade must represent all non-final coursework in the same weighted system. If assignments, projects, participation, drops, or extra-credit items are still pending, calculate or estimate those first.
