What does salary after tax mean?
Salary after tax is the amount left after selected pre-tax contributions, estimated federal income tax, employee payroll taxes and the state/local effective rate entered here.
How are monthly and biweekly figures calculated?
The calculator first estimates annual take-home pay, then divides it by 12 for a monthly average and by 26 for a biweekly average.
Does the calculator include employer benefits?
Only the annual pre-tax deduction amount you enter is subtracted. Employer-paid benefits, taxable fringe benefits, stock compensation and other compensation are not automatically added.
Why can payroll take-home differ from annual tax liability?
Payroll withholding is a pay-as-you-go estimate based on payroll rules and Form W-4 information, while your tax return reconciles actual annual income, deductions, credits and other taxes.
