What does a date difference calculator do?

It compares two Gregorian calendar dates and reports both a calendar-style difference and an elapsed day count.

What is the difference between calendar difference and total days?

A calendar difference expresses completed years, months and days. Total days measures the exact number of midnight-to-midnight date boundaries between the selected dates.

What does signed difference mean?

Signed mode preserves date order: a comparison date before the start date produces a negative result. Absolute mode reports the size of the gap regardless of order.

When should I include the end date?

Inclusive counting is useful for schedules that count both boundary dates as participating days. Elapsed-time calculations normally exclude the end date.
