What counts as a business day here?

This calculator treats Monday through Friday as standard business days and can additionally exclude the observed U.S. Federal holidays generated by its holiday rules.

How are Federal holidays observed?

For the common Monday-Friday Federal schedule, a holiday falling on Saturday is generally observed on Friday and a holiday falling on Sunday is generally observed on Monday. The calculator applies this observed-date convention.

Does this match every employer schedule?

No. Private employers, schools, financial markets, states and local governments can use different holiday calendars and workweeks.

Can the start and end dates both count?

Yes. Choose whether to include both boundaries, only one boundary, or neither boundary.
